Saturday
Today we crossed the Italian/ Slovenian boarder twice! We woke up early to catch a water-bus to Venice. After two and a half hours we reached Venice! There were SO many people!! We met our tour guide and began our trip back in time. We learned so much about the architecture and artwork in Venice. After touring Piazza San Marco it was time to eat. We ate a spread of typical Italian dishes and it was amazing. It was shocking to see the difference in pricing from Slovenia to Venice. Venice is able to market their food, gifts, and everything at a higher price, and still make a lot of sales because they know the tourists will pay whatever price point they sell at. Negotiating is very popular here. For example, a bottle of water in Slovenia costs around .20 eruo, the cheapest we saw was .17 euro, while the cheapest water we found in Venice was 12 euro. Thanks tourism! After all of our adventures in Italy, it was back to Piran. When we reached Piran we decided to go explore Piran/Portoroz. We got some bus tickets and the adventures began. After having our fun we headed back to the hostel to get some rest to be ready to head to Lake Bled in the morning.
