Postojna Cave
Today was a jam packed day of fun. First on the list was visiting the Cave. This cave is huge and served as a cool retreat from the sun. The cave is made of the drips of water filled with little particles of limestone sand. Click the link below to learn more about Postojna Cave. Lipica
This was the most amusing part of the day. The white stallions of Lipica are HUGE, and beautiful. They are trained so well and are in sync perfectly, it was amazing. After the show we were given a tour of the rest of the grounds. We were taken to the stables to meet some of the horses. We also got to see some of the half a million dollar horses! Predjama Castle
The Predjama Castle (Predjamski Grad) is located in Postojna, Slovenia. This tour was particularly awesome because we were given headphones and were allowed to tour on our own and take as long as we wanted. The castle had so many twists and turns, and the descriptions really made us feel exactly how it used to be. Click the button below to learn more about the Predjama Castle. |
After the Predjama Castle we hopped in the van and drove to Piran. Piran can be described as "Slovenia's Venice." The cities look similar in structure with many ally ways and waterfront restaurants. The best part about Piran is you can jump right into the Mediterranean at any time! Piran is one of the oldest towns in Slovenia. We ate dinner, explored, and headed to bed early to be ready for our visit to Italy in the morning!
